Diesel Engine Repair in Idaho Springs

Diesel parts are expensive, so the quote has to be right. Each fault is tested before parts are priced, from hard winter starts to power loss on the climb toward the tunnel.

How the quote is built

Injectors and turbochargers are some of the most expensive parts on a truck, and they are often replaced on suspicion. We test fuel delivery, boost and sensors first, so the quote names the part that has actually failed.

Common Ford, GM and Ram light-duty diesels are covered, along with the routine diesel servicing that keeps those faults from coming back.

What moves the price

Glow plugs, sensors and EGR parts are mid-range jobs. Injectors and turbochargers are the larger bills, and particulate filter problems depend on the cause upstream. Each item is priced separately so you can compare.

Checking a quote you already have

Diesel quotes can run high quickly, so ask what testing backs them up. An injector quote should come with balance or return test results. A turbo quote should explain whether the problem is the turbo itself or a boost leak, a sensor or the actuator. For particulate filter work, ask what caused the clogging, because replacing the filter without fixing the cause sends the truck back in. Those details are always on our quotes.

When you call

Tell us the engine, the mileage, how the truck is used and whether it has any tuning or aftermarket parts. If a message has appeared on the dash, note the exact wording or take a photo of it. Diesel warnings are often specific, and they point the testing straight at the right system, which saves time on the lift and keeps the bill down.

Questions we hear

Which diesels do you service?

Light-duty pickups and SUVs, including the common Ford, GM and Ram engines. We will tell you on the call if yours is outside that.

Why does my DPF keep clogging?

Short trips, a faulty sensor or an EGR problem are the usual causes, and the cause is fixed along with the filter.

Do I need all eight injectors?

Not always. Balance tests show which ones are out of spec.

Do you service diesel fuel filters and water separators?

Yes. They are a routine part of keeping a diesel healthy, and they are priced with the rest of the service so you can see each item separately.
